陆蓉之 Victoria Lu, 新艺名:Viki Lulu

    1951年出生于台湾的上海文人家庭,陆家的客厅是昆曲在台湾的复兴地,每周末的聚会发展成为昆曲的大、小同期。在琴棋书画的中国文人环境里,陆蓉之4岁开始从海上文人艺术家刘雅农习画,9岁入台北师范大学夜间部补校从孙家勤学习人物画,10岁拜海上名家“三吴一冯”的吴子深(华源)为师。11岁时在台北拜师张大千,但因母亲郁家五姐妹郁慕贞、郁慕洁、郁慕娟、郁慕云、郁慕莲早在上海均已拜入大风堂门下,不可乱了辈分,仅纳为再传弟子。13岁陆蓉之在台北的中央图书馆美术室举办《陆蓉之就正画展》,发表了72件作品。17岁创作了40米长的巨幅写生山水长卷“东西横贯公路”,原拟报吉尼斯记录巨幅作品最年轻的艺术家,因年幼不悉申请途径而作罢,后被台北故宫第一任院长蒋复璁先生将作品捐给了台北故宫收藏。

    1971年陆蓉之赴比利时就读布鲁塞尔皇家艺术学院,1973年移民美国,从加州州立大学获得艺术学士与硕士,主攻绘画。1970年代中期从海外开始为台湾的艺术杂志、报纸撰写艺术评述文章,1978年底在美国南加州创办以观念装置艺术为主的替代空间画廊,担任策展人的工作。日后在台湾推动公共艺术立法和当代艺术的教育推广工作而活跃于台湾艺坛,1980年代将英文CURATOR一字翻译为“策展人”,是中国当代艺术圈内以中文书写最早的女性艺评家及策展人。

    陆蓉之曾担任洛杉矶市立画廊管理委员会委员、台湾电视台「台视文化馆」艺文节目主持人、台北当代艺术馆创馆董事、台北市都市计划审查委员、台北文建会公共艺术委员、台北市政府市政顾问及国际事务委员会委员。1999年策划台湾当代艺术大展“复数元的视野”在北京的中国美术馆展出,打开两岸的当代艺术交流。

    2003年陆蓉之回归父母的故乡上海,先后担任上海外滩18号创意中心艺术总监、上海当代艺术馆创意总监,策划“第一及二届中国国际动漫艺术节国内外原创特展 ”、韩国釜山双年展海边计划“活家具展”等等。 2006年陆蓉之在上海当代艺术馆创立《文献双年展》,2007年创立《动漫美学双年展(Animamix Biennial)》,2009年将动漫美学双年展扩张至台北、北京和广州等4个城市,至今,已经发展成亚洲地区6个城市的共襄盛举的主题双年展。

    2007年陆蓉之出任北京月亮河当代艺术馆馆长,并受邀为美国古根汉美术馆亚洲委员会委员。2010年陆蓉之转任北京今日美术馆创意总监,2011年陆蓉之成功地主持并策划了第54届威尼斯双年展平行展“未来通行证-从亚洲到全球”,共邀请逾150位艺术家及团队,在两个展馆参加展出,是意大利威尼斯在地的Fondazione Claudio Buziol修复14世纪修道院新馆的开馆展。“未来通行证-从亚洲到全球”被当地媒体评为推荐必看的展览,获当地报纸两整版的报导,在当地备受欢迎。之后,《未来通行证-从亚洲到全球》巡回到荷兰鹿特丹世界美术馆,台中台湾美术馆和北京今日美术馆三地。2015年陆蓉之曾受邀担任威尼斯国际电影节市场部亚洲影视空间的艺术总监,开始接触影视方面的工作,拍摄了草间弥生和郎世宁主题的教育推广影片。2016年成立“萌奶奶天团SUPER M MAA PERFORMANCE GROUP”,以祝小民原创曲,王广成编舞,参加了2017年威尼斯双年展的平行展《MODUS》,推出“中国当代群众艺术(CCPA)”的萌奶奶天团广场舞首演,以及“生命万岁”的音乐视频作品。

    陆蓉之目前担任台北实践大学创意产业博士班专任教授及博导,结合优秀的创作伙伴,从事影视方面的艺术创作工作。陆蓉之与青年导演赵伯祚联合完成拍摄生平第一部自导自演的艺术影片“答应你 Re:Promises”,与傅申联合演出。陆蓉之70岁出道当导演,影片讲述一家四老如何奋斗老龄化社会的高龄家庭,同时保有并崇扬中国的家庭伦理观念和孝道,是萌奶奶陆蓉之勇敢面对老人失智失能的悲欢人生。2019年陆蓉之与意大利艺术家MP5应邀联合出演GUCCI的形象艺术短片。

    陆蓉之历年重要的出版有“后现代的艺术现象”、 “公共艺术的方位”、 “台湾(当代)女性艺术史”、 “「破」后现代的艺术”、“当代华人艺术家100- 张晓刚”等学术论述,以及个人自传”Viki Lulu遇见未来”和傅申传记“溯古开今”…等。近期,陆蓉之将与唐妮诗联合出版关于潮艺术(URBART)的新书,并与赵伯祚联合导演“潮艺术动向”的全球系列纪录片。陆蓉之以70岁高龄与赵伯祚联合导演的首部纪录长片《答应你》,描绘她和傅申面对年老的痛苦与挣扎,行脚遍布13个国家和地区,即将推出全球发行。

 

      VICTORIA YUNG-CHIH LU (Viki Lulu) was born into a literati family in Taiwan. She attended Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and then emigrated to the U.S. in the early 1970s.  She received her BA and MA degrees from California State University and majored in painting. She began writing art criticism in the mid-1970s for a number of Taiwanese newspapers and magazines. She launched her curatorial career at the end of 1978 as the director and curator of the Alternative Space Stage One Gallery in southern California, which mainly exhibited conceptual and installation art. Then she returned to Taiwan and helped the government establish policies regarding public art and the promotion of art education to the general public. Victoria Lu is the first female art critic and curator in the Chinese contemporary art world. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Municipal Gallery and was a founding member and the Board of Directors of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei. She was a television host for Taiwan Television Station’s cultural program. She has served on the Public Art Committee and the Council for Cultural Planning and Development in Taiwan. Victoria Lu moved to Shanghai in 2003 and served as the Artistic Director at Bund 18 Creative Center and later served as the Creative Director at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai, which was the first privately owned contemporary arts Museum in China. She was also the Creative Director of the First Shanghai eARTS Festival. Victoria Lu was appointed Director of Moon River Museum of Contemporary Art in Beijing last August. In 2007, she was invited to be a member on the Asian Council at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. She is now one of the leading figures in the Chinese contemporary art world. 


      Victoria Lu curated “Future Pass”, Collateral Event of the 54th International Art Exhibition – la Biennale di Venezia. She invited more than150 artists participated in this well received international exhibition.  Victoria Lu was invited to be the Art Director of the Asian Film and Television Space at Film Mart in the Venice International Film Festival in 2015. She started her new mission in the movies and television industry. She participated 2017 Venice Biennale Collateral Event MODUS with her new artwork: Viva La Belle Vie, a performance piece and video of Chinese Contemporary People’s Art (CCPA), music by Zhu Xiaomin and choreographer by Peter Wang. Recently, she established a new workshop in Los Angeles, Taipei and Shanghai: FUTURE PASS Creativity with a few young talents internationally to create new art in the film, television and new-media art field.


      Victoria Lu is not only teaching the Creative Industry PHD program at Shih Chien University now, she is also directing and playing the lead role in her first film: "Re: Promises" which portraits a family’s struggling in an aging society and still trying to carry out the Chinese filial piety tradition. It is the true story of the joy and sorrow in Victoria’s own elderly life. It is planned to release the film by the end of this year. 

      Victoria Lu and Italian artist MP5 were invited to co-play in the 2019 GUCCI‘s short film, which will be broadcast on the Internet platform in September. She is the author of the Post-Modern Phenomena in Art, Perspective of Contemporary Art, The Vernacular Idioms of Taiwan Contemporary Art, Encountering the Others, and the Post Post-Modern Art….etc. She will soon publish her newest publication about URBART in Chinese speaking world.
